Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we never touch, and the rights you have — in plain words.
Last updated: November 2026
The short version
Your documents are processed on-device, inside your browser. For on-device tools nothing is uploaded — we do not want your files, we cannot read them, and we never receive them.
What we collect
DocoPDF runs without an account, so there is very little data at all. Here is the complete list:
- Device & browser info
- Sent only with bug reports you choose to submit (browser details, a truncated user agent) so we can reproduce them. Never tied to your files or tool usage.
- Tool ratings
- When you rate a result: the tool id, your rating and an optional reason or short message. No file names, no IP addresses, no user agents.
- Anonymous analytics (opt-in)
- Only if you accept in the cookie banner: Google Analytics 4 counts page views and tool usage with an anonymized IP — never file names, file contents or anything you type. Withdraw anytime from Privacy settings; we then delete its cookies.
- Contact form details
- If you write to us: your name, email, chosen topic and message — used only to reply to you.
- Payment data
- None. DocoPDF is free — we never ask for card or UPI details. If a paid plan ever launches, the payment provider would handle it; we would keep only the order record.
- Local preferences
- Language, theme, consent choice, favorites and recent-file entries (label, size, page count, a small thumbnail) live in your browser’s local storage — never on our servers.
What we never collect
These are not “we collect but delete later” items — for on-device tools they are structurally impossible:
The content of any PDF, image or file you open in a tool — on-device tools never upload it.
File names or IP addresses attached to tool ratings.
Ad networks and trackers — none, ever. Until you opt in, the analytics tag stays cookieless and measures nothing; there are no ads on DocoPDF.
Accounts and passwords — there is nothing to breach.
Why we use what we have
- Tool ratings: decide which tools to fix and improve first.
- Contact details: answer your message, and nothing else.
- Bug reports: reproduce and fix what broke (title, message, category, severity, tool id and browser info).
- Legal compliance: keep records only where a law genuinely requires it.
How long we keep it
Tool ratings, contact messages and bug reports are kept for at most 12 months, then deleted. Opt-in analytics data is retained by Google for at most 14 months. Rate-limit timestamps live in memory for under a minute. Local preferences stay on your device until you clear them.
Who we share it with
Nobody for marketing — we do not sell, rent or trade data. Ever. We share only with authorities when the law genuinely compels us.
Self-hosted note: our fonts, OCR models and libraries all load from our own origin. Google Analytics is the only third party that ever receives a request from this site — and only after you opt in.
Your rights
Wherever the DPDP Act 2023 (India) or GDPR (EU) applies, you can:
Access — ask what data about you we hold.
Correction — fix anything wrong.
Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
Withdraw consent — stop processing that relies on it.
Grievance redressal — write to our Data Protection contact below.
Law we follow
This policy is written to comply with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP), and to meet GDPR standards for visitors from the European Union.
Cross-border note: we host within India wherever possible. If any processor runs elsewhere, we bind it to the same protection level contractually.
Children
DocoPDF is a general-purpose utility. It is not directed at children under 13, we do not knowingly collect their data, and if we learn we hold any, we delete it promptly.
Contact / Data Protection contact
For privacy questions or to exercise any right above, use the contact page (topic: Other) or email support@docopdf.com. We respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above and announce it on the site. The dated version you read here is the one that applies.
